Have you ever noticed that Joel actually does unwittingly speak the truth at the beginning of his ‘messages’? As he gets his followers to place their hands on the Bible, he encourages them to speak these words of truth:
“This is my Bible”
(I assume it is theirs. I guess it could be a pew Bible. Or worse, the Message, which isn’t a Bible. Still for the sake of this argument, let’s assume it’s their Bible).
“I am what it says I am”
(yep, a depraved sinner, deserving of God’s wrath and eternal punishment)
“I have what it says I have”
(yep, a depraved sinful nature)
“I can do what it says I can do”
(yep, nothing of any worth without Christ)
Then it all goes to…well, hell. The wolves expose themselves in their own blindness. Sigh…
My thoughts from the original blog…
