“To God be the glory for the wonderful gift of His Son and the work of faith which He accomplishes in our hearts through His Word by His Holy Spirit.”


Have you ever thought, “If only God would perform this miracle, I know these would believe!”?   I know I have entertained that kind of thinking in the past.  There is a passage in Luke the Lord Jesus Christ used to teach me about what inspires saving faith.  I will quote that passage and then look at other passages throughout the Scriptures to verify the main point of this passage from Luke.

“There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.  But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table.  Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom.   The rich man also died…
