A concise summary of Planned Parenthood’s murderous machinations. I shudder to think what Australia’s statistics would be, given abortion has been covered by Medicare and funded by tax payers for many years.

Thanks for sharing, NP.
PP is closing many of their smaller clinics and building huge facilities like one in Texas. We are fortunate in Arkansas to have only 2 abortion clinics. Every day people stand outside the one in Little Rock and protest. We are in the early days of something called “40 Days for Life.” Many more show up during this period each year.
There was an effort to place a clinic in Hot Springs but a local Christian organization called The Watchmen of Garland County got wind of it. I attend their meetings and help them with special projects. PP decided not to locate in Hot Springs after several pastors made enough noise.
We keep on fighting (and praying). The Pregnancy Crisis center where I work has had close to 30 babies saved this year. Five more young ladies had ultrasounds today. Maybe one of those will change their mind and have a beautiful little gift from God.
God’s blessings…
BTW…I work in the parenting part of the center.

Chris, California will make up for the absence of abortion providers in Arkansas. There are plenty here. My state is so liberal and progressive, that right now boys can use the girls’ bathroom if they ‘feel’ they are a girl inside…
upside down, I tell you…

Chris P, it truly is an upside down world. Yet, in defense of you quirky Americans, at least there are many of you who have been raising your voices over the years in protest. We seem to swallow the kool-aid far more readily and without protest here in Australia. I could be wrong…it’s just the sense I get watching things play out in general society, education and politics these days. Praise God for the work you do in His name as well!

I thought I had heard that, Delight, but to know it is really true is hard to take.
Sometimes I wish I hadn’t left California. It seems that there are many ministry opportunities there. I guess God had a different plan.

I am a bit behind on my replies, but wanted to say bless you Chris for the work that you do with young people in Christ’s name. I can barely remember the counselling I got at that same stage of my life, but I did appreciate it. Sadly I was too much of a mess to truly hear the message. It is strange to think I would now have a 20 year old son or daughter if I had. It brings me great joy to think of nearly 30 babies saved just in your own area alone, not to mention their mothers/fathers not having to live with that awful choice. Praise God for his mercy and kindness, and may he continue to to give you the courage and strength to continue your work.

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, Sherryn.
I have only been at the center for a little over 5 years. The original purpose of the center was to help young mothers see that abortion was the wrong decision. In the 25 years the center has been open, over 2100 babies have been saved.
Now, we are a very unique place. Our local authorities (judges, attorneys, case workers, etc.) recommend us for everything from parenting classes to supervised visitations, to marriage counseling. We also do post-abortive counseling, give out diapers, baby clothing, and baby items. Everything we do is free.
Even our anger management class is free. The pastor who teaches it has had a number of salvations as a result of the Christian curriculum.
We will take no funding from the government as it would limit our free speech. Our funding comes from small and large churches in the area and around the country.
I started as a volunteer when I was in between jobs. Our director must have noticed some teaching ability (I have an Arkansas State Teaching Credential and have taught in Christian schools), and she had me teaching parenting classes fairly quickly.
Because of lack of funding, I didn’t get put on staff for 2 years. I am now on staff as a part timer but I have given my phone number to many of our clients with whom I maintain contact.
We make less than the minimum wage in America. The three of us who do get paid are supported by our families. My wife is a public school teacher and her insurance is what paid for my daughter’s kidney transplant.
The director of our center knows that I refuse to be in financial debt. She knows that I would have to return to teaching if the bills weren’t getting paid. My prayer is that I will never have to leave the center.
In five years, God has provided in some tough times. It is a privilege to do what I do. My family sees it as our mission work. My son did so well in high school that he has a free ride in college. He is in his freshman year and doing well. I am fortunate that both of my “kids” (18,21) have a solid relationship with Jesus.
When I first started at our center, one of the volunteers was a woman in her 70’s. She had had more than one abortion before Roe v. Wade. It haunted her for years. I don’t know how many she led to the Lord in the decade plus that she spent there. She was the soul winner of our bunch. She had printed out her story and gave it to any of the young women who were considering abortion. She has a peace now and is one of the most wonderful Christians one would ever want to meet. She had to stop volunteering because of health issues.
Sorry to ramble on but I thank you for sharing your story. Now I understand why you are so cautious about others, Christians included, being in a bad environment. It’s hard to walk through mud and not get some on oneself.
Our God is a merciful God. What would we do without Him?
God’s blessings…

Chris, what an absolute blessing your testimony is. Thank you so much for sharing it with me, and so others too can benefit. I find great encouragement in the faithful obedience of you and your wife, in doing the Lord’s work for His glory. Equally encouraging is knowing that both your children are walking with the Lord. Praise God! Truly, it fills my heart with great joy! 🙂
