While Joel and Victoria Osteen believe that our Lord’s command to let your light shine before others in the passage above is to prosper and show everyone how God is blessing you, this is not what He was talking about at all. The book covers of Osteen’s books (Break Out! et al.) and Oprah’s magazine covers clearly show just where their love and devotion lie. And it’s not with God, but with self; and it is so apparent in their “teachings” and various endorsements (the “Son of God” and “Noah” movies, and books such as “The Secret,” etc.)
